North East British National Party activists have been celebrating St George’s Day in the most patriotic way possible this weekend – by delivering loads of BNP literature.
On Saturday 21st April a team was in South Shields town centre, handing out Nick Griffin’s glossy new St George’s Day leaflets, along with balloons and flags.
The leaflet explains that Nick donates 10 percent of his MEP salary to good causes via his English Fair Fund – including funding special St George’s Day events. It also urges people to join our campaign to make all Saints days public holidays.
Elsewhere in the region, activists were on the streets of Hartlepool, helping Manor House ward candidate Ronnie Bage deliver his local election address and St George’s Day leaflets. The team covered a large section of the ward, which Ronnie has already been diligently leafleting in the run-up to the election.
Finally, on St George’s Day itself, activists from County Durham and South Tyneside met up with Chris Thornton to leaflet his Whiteleas ward in South Shields. Sunny weather made for a pleasant day’s electioneering, and we completed leafleting the ward to coincide with the arrival of the postal vote ballots on the same day.
There is still a lot of work to be done between now and 3rd May.
On Thursday 26th April we will be leafleting Anita Cooper’s Fawdon ward in Newcastle. If you would like to help, please contact 07503 779 207.
