National Organiser Adam Walker has called two national weekends of action in Barnsley for the upcoming Barnsley Central by-election on 3 March.

The first is this weekend, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 February, and the second is the following weekend, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 February.

“These are the last two weekends before the election, so it is very important we get lots of people along to help the hardworking local activists,” said Mr Walker.

“The excellent turnout for our previous national day of action enabled us to leaflet every house in the constituency in just a few hours. If we get similar numbers of activists over the next four days of action, we can distribute a much wider selection of our literature, as well as carry out important canvassing work.

“The more people who come to help, the greater our chance of success in this election.”

Activists should meet at the Spencers Arms, Barugh Green Road, Barugh Green, Barnsley, S75 1JT.

The meeting time for all four days is 10 a.m.
