The below message has been posted on the bus timetable in St John's Chapel, Weardale, and copies of it have also been left in the village's post office. It states that two bus routes in Weardale, the 101 between Stanhope and Cowshill and the 102 between Stanhope and Rookhope, are under threat due to government spending cuts. It asks anyone who uses these services to write to Durham County Council to say why you're opposed to such cuts and how often and why you use these bus routes. I'll be phoning the Council on Tuesday to try and find out just what exactly the proposed cuts are; I'll report their answers on here.
If you know anyone in Weardale who uses these services, please pass this message on to them.
